Delegate South

Taylor Aarns

"This position enables me to grow into a more competent dietitian. Gaining experience with intervening at the highest level of intervention – policy – is exciting! I would love to learn more about legislation and see dietetics from this view. I can bring an enthusiastic spirit to the IAND Leadership Team. I have always enjoyed teamwork and collaborating with others. During my time at Food Outreach, I have exhibited consistent leadership within the team and within Food Outreach and consider myself a strong collaborator and communicator. Even during times where resistance to change presented as a barrier,  worked diligently to advocate for my clients and stay mission-aligned. I am a task and detail-oriented individual. Additionally, working in a community nutrition setting, I am constantly multitasking and sharing information. This has strengthened my soft skills such as time-management, organization, adaptability and interpersonal skills. I am passionate about our field and want to use my skills and knowledge to serve more individuals and communities."
