Welcome to the Illinois Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (IAND) Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access page. The page was developed for our members to find helpful resources. The IDEA committee is led by our Diversity Liaison, Lisa Artega. The committee is always looking for new members to join our virtual meetings to help make a difference. We are very proud to have the support of this great dietitian as she works to share with members all the best there is on Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access. The IDEA committee's primary goal is to promote a more inclusive and equitable environment among Illinois dietitians.

Illinois Academy's IDEA Statement

The Illinois Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (IAND) aims to amplify the diverse voices of our profession. We support our community members by creating an environment that encompasses individuals from all backgrounds, ages, races, genders, sexual orientations, cultures, experiences, and abilities. We do this by increasing outreach to students to promote our profession, provide support to current dietetic students, strengthen connections between dietetics professionals, and strive to improve the well-being of all the communities we serve.

Member Interest Groups (MIGs)

Member Interest Groups are groups of Academy members who have a common interest. Unlike dietetic practice groups or affiliates, member interest groups focus on areas other than the practice of dietetics or geographic location. As divisions of the national organization, MIGs reflect the many characteristics of the Academy's membership and the public it serves.

Student RD Exam Preparation & Empowerment Program

Are you preparing to take the Registration Examination for Dietitians? The Illinois Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (IAND) is offering a Student RD Exam Preparation & Empowerment Program to support future dietitians in Illinois! This sponsorship provides funding for the eatrightPREP® examination preparation tool, the Academy’s cutting-edge platform designed to help candidates succeed on the RD exam.

Application Deadline: April 27, 2025 (11:59 PM MST)

Eligibility Requirements:

Must be an Academy member
Must be in the final months of a dietetic internship or have recently completed a dietetic internship
Must commit to taking the RD exam within 3 months of starting the eatrightPREP® program
Must share simulated RD exam scores and final RD exam passing status within 1 month after completing the program
Must complete a program evaluation post-participation
