President's Message

Elaine Eickstaedt

Welcome and Greetings:

I am pleased to welcome everyone back for another exciting year with the South Suburban Dietetic Association (SSDA).  For new members, we are happy to have you in our membership.  We are pleased to offer a variety of continuing education programs this season, and hope the topics offer new learning for all.  Our President-Elect -Bonnie Janota - has been busy putting the final touches on the agenda.  The current program can be found on the SSDA website at eatrightillinois.org. We will be raffling registrations this year for the “Innovative Concepts in Nutrition” seminar hosted by the Ingalls Memorial Hospital Interns, as well as the IDA Spring Assembly for 2013.  We also hope to combine our food pantry donation drive with fun raffle prizes.  Remember, also, that membership provides job opportunities, announcements, and updates via our email list.

Just a few notes to start off the new year:

Attached is the SSDA registration form.  Please fill out and bring to the September meeting. We will again need a copy of your current AND card to to allow membership in SSDA, please bring a copy to the September meeting, or bring your card so we can make a copy for our records.  CEU certificates will be held if cards are not on file by the October meeting.  Registration fees remain $30 for the year for RD/DTR, $15 for interns, $10 for students.  Individual meeting costs including CEU for non members is $20.  In accordance with AND, SSDA is pleased to welcome health professionals included in the AND Associates Category.

Thanks to Kim Kramer for keeping us media savvy!  Look us up on Facebook and follow us on Twitter.  As always, contact us via This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .
