Implicit Bias Awareness Training

The Implicit Bias Training Mandate for Health Care Workers was signed into Law in the summer of 2021.

Implicit bias is a form of bias that occurs automatically and unintentionally, that nevertheless affects judgments, decisions, and behaviors. Research has shown implicit bias can pose a barrier to recruiting and retaining a diverse scientific workforce.

For license or registration renewals occurring on or after January 1, 2023, all health care professionals who hold a professional license (listed in Section 1130.500 Implicit Bias Awareness Training) shall complete a one-hour course in implicit bias awareness training per renewal period.  A licensee may count this one hour for completion of this course towards meeting the minimum credit hours required for continuing education.
