I am honored to be president of the North Suburban Dietetic Association (NSDA) this 2012-2013 year. I picked this quote as inspiration for this president’s message because I feel it represents how this year will be not only for NSDA, but for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics as well as Registered Dietitians and Dietitian Technicians, Registered everywhere. The goal of NSDA is to provide cutting edge continuing education, outstanding networking, career enhancement, and opportunities to volunteer and contribute to our local community. The hard work and collaboration of this year’s council on practice committee and NSDA board members has provided us with an outstanding line up of speakers for our 2012-2013 program year. NSDA members this year will not only benefit professionally from this well rounded program but personally as well. Our deliberate decision to offer meetings on a variety of days at various locations was intended to better serve our North Suburban district members. The immense persistence for obtaining sponsorship is key to helping us maintain reasonable rates for membership. These conscious efforts of the NSDA committee members can only leave us with a successful 2012-2013 year that meets and exceeds the expectations of our North Suburban Community members. I look forward to sharing this year with you and watching our profession continue to flourish together.
