Welcome WSDA members and friends! We are looking forward to an outstanding year full of opportunities to strengthen our ties to the West Suburban food and nutrition community and to broaden our knowledge in a variety of cutting-edge areas. I am honored to serve as your president this year, to follow in the footsteps of our Past-Presidents, and I know that the Board will keep striving to move our diverse group forward. The Programming Committee has been hard at work to bring us a wide variety of topics including a fantastic chance to sample and learn the health benefits of olive oils and balsamic vinegars at our September 13th Kick-Off meeting with Mario Olivi of The Downers Grove Olive Tap. Also in the works are a career forum, public policy and Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Delegate update, social media webinar, clinical skills update, and a field trip which promises to inform and entertain too. Throughout the year, we will continue to keep you updated with the latest through the twice-yearly newsletters, E-mail updates with job listings and on our district website www.wsdadietitians.org Please check back frequently for the most up-to-date information, such as the membership application and program details. See you in September! Julie Black, RD, LDN |
