I look with great anticipation upon the year we have planned ahead for the Chicago Dietetic Association. Our annual kickoff event is nearly at capacity, a sign that Chicago area RDs are anxious for a new year. We are very excited for our first dinner meeting, which will be held at UIC on September 12th. Our program committee has arranged for several Chicago based food trucks to bring us various samplings prior to what is bound to be an enlightening meeting with Melissa Joy Dobbins, who will teach how to best deliver our nutrition messages in a media setting. We also have committed to continue to work on our strategic plan in anticipation of our 100 year anniversary in a couple years. And, finally, we have big plans for our legislative committee. We will be sending 6 members to PPW, yet again. Additionally, we have asked our members to be very active on the political front, as it is crucial to our future. I look forward to a very productive year!
